Poseidon Configuration:

• 3 global-view units, with 6 cameras
• Video coverage of the pool: 100% of the pool
• Computer-aided monitoring: deep-end pool zones

The Poseidon System became operational at the Auteuil pool in June 2000. The first Parisian pool to be equipped with the Poseidon System, the Auteuil pool was the subject of study by many journalists.

“Video can increase pool safety. It is a brand new system -- it has just come out and it apparently works. Several municipal pools in France have recently equipped themselves with a video-camera monitoring system. This is true of the Auteuil pool in Paris, in particular. In order to protect swimmers from drowning, lifeguards are highly efficient but, on crowded days, this may not always be enough.”
